CHICAGO (STMW) – A Chicago police squad car was stolen early Saturday, then recovered a short time later in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
Officers conducting a perimeter check for a burglar alarm discovered their vehicle was missing about 4:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of South California Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.
The car was recovered unoccupied a short time later a few blocks away, Sedevic said. It was not immediately known how someone took possession of the vehicle.
No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
