(STMW) –A 77-year-old man was fatally struck by a car early Saturday in the North Side Jefferson Park neighborhood.
The man was crossing the street in the 5900 block of North Elston Avenue about 12:50 a.m. when a vehicle struck him, police said.
Joseph Kubica, of the 5300 block of North Luna Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:10 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The driver, a 45-year-old woman, was cited for driving without insurance and striking a pedestrian, police said.
