CHICAGO (STMW) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in the McKinley Park neighborhood on the South Side Saturday morning, police said.
The 24-year-old man was hit about 6:45 a.m. in the 1800 block of West 33rd Place, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
The vehicle then drove away, Estrada said.
The man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he later died, according to police. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death.
Police did not have a description of the vehicle. No one is in custody as the police Major Accidents Investigations Unit handles the case.
