CHICAGO (CBS) — The CBS Chicago Cares Telethon has raised $2,151,792.99 for disaster relief for typhoon victims in the Philippines and for tornado victims in central Illinois.
Several corporations made large donations, including McDonalds which donated $330,000, JP Morgan Chase with $100,000 and United Airlines with $1.19 million.
Bears Care board members Jerry Azumah and Dave Anderson and team mascot Staley Da Bear were on hand to present a check of over $200,000.
