SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (CBS) – One person was killed, and one other was rescued from a house fire in South Elgin on Wednesday.
The fire started around 9 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Beck Avenue in South Elgin.
Police said one person died in the fire, and one other person was rescued by firefighters. Both victims are adults.
According to dispatch reports, firefighters had to deal with a frozen fire hydrant while extinguishing the blaze.
