CHICAGO (CBS) – Legendary Chicago radio rock jock Larry Lujack has died of cancer at age 73.
Lujack had a sarcastic style that included the “Klunk Letter of the Day” and humorous “Animal Stories”.
Lujack was known by many names — Superjock, Lawrence of Chicago, Uncle Lar, and King of the Corn Belt.
His sidekick was “Little Tommy” Edwards. Edwards says Superjock was the hardest working radio person he ever met.
“He was really one-of-a-kind. There wasn’t really anybody like him before that. He was himself, he was honest, he was cynical. He has a great sense of humor,” said Edwards.
