CHICAGO (CBS) — Hillary Clinton is out with a new book and hitting the speaking circuit hard.

Clinton was the keynote speaker at a meeting of the Food Marketing Institute and the United Fresh Produce Association. the Fresh Produce Association at McCormick Place on Tuesday

CBS 2 called eight stores and only half the stores had the book. The consensus among the store owners is that sales were a little slow.

CBS 2’s Dorothy Tucker reports from the window to the front door, Hillary Clinton’s new book is prominently displayed at the Books A Million store, and like politics, customers are voting for or against it.

“As a woman who cracked the glass ceiling, I would read her book,” said customer Maryann Wren.

The book is called “Hard Choices,” a 635 page memoir with nearly a dozen pages of glossy pictures highlighting Clinton’s life and years as Secretary of State and working alongside her one time rival, President Obama.

About the day they buried their differences, she writes, “We stared at each other like two teenagers on an awkward first date…”

“I would surmise this is a book that’s intended to launch a presidential campaign,” said Dan Proft, a Republican radio host and consultant.

Republicans like Proft say there’s plenty of ammunition in the book if Clinton runs in 2016, like her controversial handling of the events surrounding the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi. Clinton writes, “I will not be a part of a political slugfest on the backs of dead Americans”.

“Which is it, the new explanation or the old one? This demands new questions,” said Proft.

Clinton is already facing questions on whether she’ll testify at future hearings on Benghazi.

“I’m not going to say one way or the other. If they ask, we’ll see what they decide,” she said.
