CHICAGO (CBS) — Cubs fan Louis Reinhart finally got his chance to present the game ball at Wrigley Field.
The 100-year-old retiree was scheduled to present the game ball on Opening Day, but got stuck in traffic traveling 145 miles from his home in Metamora and couldn’t make it in time.
Reinhart got a second chance on Sunday and dropped the game ball before the Cubs took on the Miami Marlins.
The Cubs learned about Reinhart when his daughter wrote a letter and requested a souvenir ball. They invited him to participate in the Opening Day festivities.
