HUNTLEY, Ill. (STMW) – A second man has died more than a week after he got into an argument with his brother and someone pulled out a gun in northwest suburban Huntley, police said.

About 5:10 p.m. on May 26, a woman called police to a home in the 11400 block of Morning Glory Lane saying she’d been shot, according to a statement from Huntley police.

A preliminary investigation suggests the woman’s two sons — 48-year-old Robert Grundei and his 50-year-old brother, Mark Grundei — were arguing when someone pulled out a gun, police said.

Robert Grundei was shot in the head and shoulder, while his brother Mark was shot in the head, police said.

The woman had the gun in her possession when police arrived and had a graze wound to her head, police said.

All three were taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where Robert Grundei, formerly of Coral Springs, Fla., died later that day, police said.

Mark Grundei suffered “severe head injuries” and died Wednesday at a hospice care center in Woodstock, according to police. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

The woman was treated and released from the hospital, police said.

A revolver was recovered at the scene. Police do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident.
