CHICAGO (STMW) – One person was injured in an extra-alarm fire at an apartment building in the South Side Chatham neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
The blaze at a three-story apartment building in the 8000 block of South Ellis Avenue started about 3:30 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.
A second alarm was called for the blaze, but firefighters were able to extinguish the fire by about 4:30 p.m. officials said.
One person was taken to South Shore Hospital in good condition, officials said. Fire officials had no immediate information on the person’s age or gender.
