(STMW) – A Chicago man is facing charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted his co-worker in north suburban Evanston last month.
Sulaimon Adigun, 24, was charged with criminal sexual assault and was ordered held on $75,000 bond Wednesday, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s office website and Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott.
Adigun was at work—a facility that assists people with mental disabilities—in the 1400 block of Elmwood Avenue in Evanston on March 29 when he started having sexual conversations with his 19-year-old co-worker, Parrott said.
The woman walked away, but Adigun followed her and got aggressive, eventually fondling her, Parott said. She demanded he stop and walked away.
After “several” similar encounters throughout the day, Adigun followed the woman when she went to the basement of the building about 3 p.m., pulled her down and sexually assaulted her, Parrott said.
The woman reported the incident later that evening, Parott said. Police arrested Adigun Tuesday morning.
Adigun, of the 3500 block of South Cottage Grove Drive in Chicago, was ordered held on $75,000 bond, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s office website. He will next appear in court in Skokie on May 16, the sheriff’s website said.
