CHICAGO (CBS) — Eight people are hurt, including 2 firefighters and a police officer, in a fire on the South Side Tuesday afternoon, according to Chicago Fire Spokesman Larry Langford.
The fire occurred in the 11600 block of South Michigan Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood.
One firefighter was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in good condition and the other was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition is not known but is not believed to be life-threatening. A police officer was taken to Metro South Medical Center in good condition.
Five civilians were being treated for smoke inhalation, with one taken in serious condition to Advocate Trinity Hospital. The four others are in good condition at Roseland Community Hospital.
