Poll: Rauner Leads Quinn; Durbin Ahead Of Oberweis

CHICAGO (CBS) — Republican challenger Bruce Rauner holds an early edge against incumbent Pat Quinn in the race for Illinois governor, according to a poll released on Monday.

A new Rasmussen survey of likely Illinois voters shows Rauner picking up 43 percent of the vote to Quinn’s 40 percent. A total of 10 percent of voters remain undecided, while six percent prefer some other candidate.

In the race for U.S. Senate, longtime Democratic Senator Dick Durbin has a double-digit lead over his Republican challenger.

Durbin has 51 percent of the vote to state Senator Jim Oberweis’ 37 percent. A total of 10 percent are undecided and three percent support another candidate.

Both polls of 750 likely voters were conducted on April 9-10 and have a margin of error of plus/minus four percent.
