CHICAGO (CBS) — New research into the roles of parents signals a significant paradigm shift in how adults are raising their children.

As first reported by the New Yorker, the research done at the University of Massachusetts found that parents don’t need to read any more articles about parenting.

In fact, the lead researcher in the project, Susan Waterson, found that most moms and dads “will go fucking ape-shit” if presented with another long-form article about parenting.

Waterson, who is the author of zero books, said she doesn’t plan on writing one because “another book at this point would just be cruel.”

While Waterson’s research only focused on parents in Massachusetts, New Yorker correspondent Sarah Miller found parents across the country felt the same way.

Miller cited the example of mother Frieda Duntmore.

The high school teacher had spent the morning reading an article about how parenting was awesome

Then, later that day while at the supermarket, she read another article on how parenting totally sucked.

She told Miller that she suddenly felt her skull splitting open and was horrified to notice blood spilling into her hands.
