HAMMOND, Ind. (STMW) – A man died Saturday morning after being shot at a sports bar Friday night in Hammond, Ind.
Thomas Ferrell, 38, of the 2500 block of River Drive in Highland, Ind., was pronounced dead at Saint Catherine Hospital in East Chicago at 9:29 a.m., according to the Lake County Coroner’s office.
Ferrell died from a gun shot wound he suffered at Game Time Bar & Grill, at 2949 165th St. in Hammond, the coroner’s office said.
An employee at the bar confirmed a shooting took place Friday night but could not immediately provide further details Saturday afternoon.
Authorities are investigating the incident as a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.
Hammond police could not be immediately reached Saturday afternoon for details on the shooting.
