CHICAGO (STMW) – A man has been charged with stabbing three people — killing one — in an attack Friday evening in the South Shore neighborhood.

David Morris, 25, was charged with one felony count of first-degree murder and two felony counts of aggravated battery, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

Police discovered the three men with stab wounds Friday in a second-floor hallway in the 7800 block of South Bennett Avenue about 7:15 p.m., police said.

Jaquinton Walker, 27, of the 6100 block of South Laflin Street, suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:10 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

A 41-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and legs and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said. Meanwhile, a 32-year-old man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in “stable” condition with a stab wound to the hip.

Morris was arrested Saturday, police said, though a motive for the attack was not given early Monday. He is scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.
