CHICAGO (CBS) — In his will, Philip Seymour Hoffman asked that his son reside in one of three major U.S. cities, including Chicago.
Hoffman, who was found dead in his New York apartment of an apparent drug overdose this month, also requested that Cooper Hoffman live in Manhattan (where Hoffman’s family currently lives) or San Francisco.
Hoffman added that if his son cannot live in those cities that he visit them twice a year.
“The purpose of this request is so that my son will be exposed to the culture arts and architecture that such cities offer,” the will stated.
Hoffman’s longtime girlfriend, Mimi O’Donnell, has been named executor of the late actor’s estate. O’Donnell is Cooper’s mother.
The will was written in 2004, before the couple’s two other children were born.
