Indiana Drivers May Be Eligible For Refund

CHICAGO (CBS) — If you own a car in the State of Indiana, you might be eligible for a little extra cash.

A court approved a $30 million settlement as a result of a class-action lawsuit that alleged drivers were over-charged for driver’s licenses.

Anybody who paid a fee to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles between 2007 and 2013 may be due a refund from the state.

Generally, the amount of the refund isn’t very large, but determining if you are eligible is easy.

Residents can go to in.gov/bmv and enter some personal information, including your name, address and either your Social Security or driver’s license number.

If residents don’t sign up for a refund, the state says Class members will automatically receive their refunds in the form of a credit the next time they participate in a financial transaction with the BMV.
